How can I make St. Augustine grass greener this time of the year?

I have st augustine grass and I have patches of good and bad. How can I make it all green? I already used winterizer two weeks ago. Is there anything else I could do?

water water and more water and good natural fertilzer.. we used to live sort of out of the city limits and we had a sesspool under the ground beside our house.. amazingly the grass grew beautiful all year around within that area.. Also seems St augustine grass likes to be mowed a lot.. keeping it neat and trimmed seemed to make it healthier.. or at least in our case.
