Douglas Bader – the most talented fighter pilot ever to grace the RAF or are there others worthy of a mention?

Oh yes Jenny, forgot him,
Lucifer, thats some high horse you are on. care to come down and join the little people?
British fighter pilots I’m interested in…. but not present day (sorry)
Oh for christ sake… what is it with people…. ok they are all worth a mention… but who is worth a special mention (ROLLING EYES!!!)
My knowledge outweighs my age? Well there are these things called books… and I tend to read a lot of non fiction and I’m reading about Bader. Interesting recommendation called Fighter from below, maybe I will do that one next.

The Dambusters were all members of 617 Sqn which formed part of BOMBER command so officially cant be considered as FIGHTER pilots.

A high percentage of the Bomber crews were not pilots but however perished alongside the pilot.Bomber command lost a larger percentage of their men than nearly any other unit in the second world war largely due to the dangerous nature of the missions they were required to carry out. Although this in no way takes anything away from the men of fighter command in my humble opinion they are certainly “worthy of a mention”.
