What would be the best Piers Anthony book for me to start with?

I am an avid lover of fantasy and am looking for a series by a new author to read this summer. One of my friends recommended Piers Anthony, but did not tell me to read a specific book or series of his. I don’t know that it really matters, but what would be the best book for me to try to see if I like his writing style?

Start with the Magic of Xanth series, first book is a Spell for Chameleon.

Or you could read his incarnations of immortality books, On a Pale Horse is the first one, i think.

A good stand alone book is Tatham Mound.

Any of these three will give you a good idea of his writing style.
